Peter Mesier had a store within the Mesier Homestead in 1777, as did many households during Colonial times. Mesier's store was even the site of the Wappinger Tea Party revolt. What were these Colonial-era stores like, and what products did they carry? Learn what Colonial-era stores stocked and sold, the forms of payment they accepted, and the extensive areas they served. Discover how this corner of the Hudson Valley was tied into a global marketplace of goods long before the internet age in this special presentation by Dutchess County Historian William P. Tatum III, Ph.D.

This event is part of Wappingers Historical Society's Speaker Series programming. The public is invited to attend. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Suggested donation of $5. Light refreshments will be served. Seating is limited and is on a first come, first served basis.
